FORRÓ TUR

 

FORRÓ TUR is a permanent extension project, promoted by the Bachelor of Tourism Course at UESPI with the organization and realization by the students of Block V of the course, which carries out this project as one of the practical activities of the TOURIST ANIMATION discipline. The event has been taking place since 2011 and takes place during the month of June, aiming to promote the cultural traditions of the June festivals in Northeast Brazil.

The activities directly involve the Teresian usury of public transport in the city, who during the commuting of everyday life are surprised by a party animated by a trio of forró and a June gang that accompanies the route traveled by the Metro, from the center of the city to a neighborhood in the southeast. In addition to this scenario, Forró Tur has also been held at the bus integration terminals and also at the Lucídio Portela bus station, involving not only Teresineses, but also tourists who disembarked at the terminal and were surprised by a welcome party.

In 2020, due to the new coronavirus pandemic, Forró Tur was held online, with a forró band that performed live and interacted directly with users of the social network Instagram. The event also featured a solidarity proposal, in which it collected donations to Cooperarte Poti, a cooperative made up of 32 artisans who had their businesses affected due to the pandemic.
